A Journey

When I first started thinking about blogging, I honestly had no idea where to begin.
I simply had a desire to share what God has been teaching me through my own journey and to encourage others who may be walking through seasons of growth, uncertainty, and faith.
If my words reach only one person who needs encouragement today, then every moment spent writing will be worth it.
So it seems fitting that my very first post should be about a journey.
What Is a Journey?
According to the dictionary, a journey is “an act of travelling from one place to another” or “a long and often difficult process of personal change and development.”
I think that definition describes life perfectly.
We are all on a journey. Some days the road feels exciting and full of possibility. Other days it feels overwhelming, lonely, and uncertain. There are moments when we can see exactly where we are going, and moments when we cannot see beyond the next step.
If I’m honest, there have been times in my own life when I wished God would simply hand me the complete map. I wanted to know where I was going, how I would get there, and what would happen along the way.
But faith doesn’t work like that.
Faith often means trusting God with the next step before we can see the whole road.
The Destination and the Road
Most journeys have a destination. We like to know where we are headed and how we will get there.
Life is different.
The road twists and turns. It includes unexpected detours, difficult climbs, painful losses, and seasons we never planned for. One day life can feel secure and predictable, and the next everything can change.
We can make plans, and there is wisdom in planning, but ultimately we are not in control of every circumstance that comes our way.
That realization can feel frightening until we remember who is walking beside us.
When the Road Feels Too Hard
There may come a time when the road feels so difficult that you wonder if you can continue.
Maybe you are carrying grief.
Maybe you are struggling with disappointment.
Maybe you feel lost, tired, or unsure of what comes next.
If that is where you are today, I want you to know something that has encouraged me many times:
You are not walking this road alone.
God sees you.
He knows exactly where you are.
And He has not forgotten you.
Sometimes His presence is most evident not when the road becomes easier, but when He gives us the strength to keep taking the next step.
Finding Your Guide
One of the most comforting verses in Scripture is Proverbs 3:5–6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (NKJV)
Those words sound simple, but living them out can be challenging.
Trusting God requires us to surrender our need to understand everything. It means choosing to believe that His wisdom is greater than ours, even when the road ahead is unclear.
Little by little, as we pray, seek Him, and acknowledge Him in our daily lives, He faithfully guides us.
Not always with a spotlight showing the entire journey, but often with enough light for the next step.
The Journey Continues
Will following God remove every difficulty from our lives?
No.
But it does mean we never walk alone.
Whether you are standing on a mountaintop, walking through a valley, or finding your way through a dark tunnel, Jesus is with you.
As we begin this journey together through Whispers of Faith, my prayer is that you will discover more of God’s faithfulness, His goodness, and His love for you.
One step at a time.
One day at a time.
One prayer at a time.
One whisper of faith at a time.
Reflection Question
Where are you currently on your journey with God?
Scripture
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV)
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank You that we can trust You. We hold on to the promise found in Proverbs that when we trust in You, You will direct our paths.
It may not always be the path we would choose, but we know that You love us and desire what is best for Your children.
Please guide us in the coming week. Help us to place all our trust in You, even when we cannot see the road ahead. Strengthen our faith, give us wisdom for each step, and remind us that we never walk alone because You are always with us.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
